At Crystal, we believe that corporate outings are a great way to build team morale among co-workers. For that reason, we organised a paintball game between our Sales and Research & Development department. Playing and having fun as a group contributes to creating an experience that is difficult to match with any other sport. This is an effective activity to facilitate the building of trust and self-confidence to share a unique experience with colleagues.
Paintballing has been rapidly gaining popularity for decades. The game’s focus on teamwork and strategy combined with pure, adrenaline-pumping fun makes for an unforgettable experience. Paintball groups are split into teams, who complete a variety of tasks whilst trying to hamper the progress of the opposition. You remove opponents from the game by marking them with a gas-powered paintball gun, and you’re given top-quality safety gear.
Crystal Sales team faced the R&D team during a 2-hour game. In the competition field, Sales tried hard to dominate their adversary, using major characteristics of sales personality like the hunter’s mentality, the intelligent fighter skills, and the charisma. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out against the R&D department team. They were using their capacity of thinking out the box, using a problem-solving approach which let them innovate and beat their rival, therefore winning the fight.
On the other hand, it does not matters who the winner is. The game was challenging and really competitive, proving to be a great opportunity to gather colleagues together in a positive environment. We truly believe it will improve their motivation, their relationships and their performance in the office. Team bonding activities also improve workplace projects that involve teamwork. After completing team building activities together, employees better understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests. This understanding helps them work even better together on future progress vital to the company.
